Triglycol Dioctate or Triethylene Glycol Di-2-ethylhexoate (Abbr: 3GO/3G8/ 3GEH )is solvent-based cold plasticizer for PVB (polyvinyl butyral), as it improves the flexibility in the cold conditions. It shows resistance to ultraviolet radiation, low temperature, oil and static-ness along with a low viscosity and some lubrication. It appears as a colorless, clear liquid. It is a polyvinyl butyral (PVB safety glass) and high-effective synthetic rubber plasticizer of PVC, PS, ethyl cellulose, cellulose nitrate and other aldehydes, with low-volatility. It is used for polyester fabrics, sealing materials, butadiene - acrylonitrile synthetic rubber and polyethylene type oil emulsion formulations. In general, its properties are superior to dioctyl phthalate or tricresyl phosphate.
